Noun: a person or thing that is a perfect example of a particular quality or type.
For just this moment, let us say that there is perfection throughout the world.
And then it changes.
What is considered “perfect” one day will be different on another day. One thing will be considered “perfect” today but something else will take its place tomorrow. Things get better or worse; change is inevitable.
Youth and health are great examples of continuous change. There are examples of the “perfect age” and what “perfect health” looks like but they are only snapshots of a specific period of time that will elude us.
Just as footsteps along a shoreline fade with each passing wave, so does our youth and eventually our health.
Noun: strength in the face of pain or grief.
We can dwell on a time when “we were younger” and become depressed when we realize the “perfects” in our lives don’t last forever.
Or we can live courageously, understanding that everything changes and we have the ability to cope, adapt, and overcome.
Just another example of living happily in this lifetime.
